Friday Freebies Images From Harpers 1879-1899 Cunard Ships Victorian Images

It has been a really long hard week for me...
My family has decided to sell my grandfathers
farm.  And while on the surface that sounds like really no
big deal.  For my sister and I it has been devastating.
The farm has been our touchstone since birth..Our quiet place.
I have just kind of numb and trying very hard to keep
busy so I don't think about the loss.  Because once I do
the tears just will not stop.

So...Lots of computer work late into the night...
I have all these great Harper's magazines from
the 1800's and the images are so fun.
Not to mention the history.
Look at the image about the ship.  That is cool.

I am in the process of re-purposing a romance novel..and some of these
fun images are finding their way into the pages since they fit
right in to the time period.
I hope you enjoy them today.

Friday Freebies Images From Harpers 1899 Magazine And Post Cards

Jill has been such a slave driver lately
she keeps cracking the whip over
at Junkin Gypsies

Time keeps running through my fingers.
I grabbed a few minuets this morning and scanned
some fun images into the computer
from one of the many( how many Lemay? Oh...hmmm about 30)
Harper's Magazines from
the 1800's
These Antique Magazines have been a
real treasure find.
I got caught up this morning looking at all the beautiful ads
and then started reading the
whole thing (this might be why time keeps slipping by)
I hope you like some of the things I picked out
The first image is
a beautiful one named The Nursery
This image is going into some of our special Mother's Day
Packs over on Junkin Gypsies
Next just some few ads.
I like the images
and then the front page of an article about the The Oregon
Since I live in Oregon and
my whole family are history buffs
this was a fascinating piece for me to read.
Last but not least..a couple of post cards
and a cabinet card photo.

Have a great Friday Gals!!!!

Sunday Night Freebies Free Vintage Images

Wow things just do not seem to be slowing down around
here.
And now...Here it is spring and my
husband is asking me about putting in the garden.  Garden?
Do I have time for that?
Guess I do...lol
I have not posted any free images in some time.
Last week I managed to acquire another 25 antique
Harper's from 1870-1899  along with several
cabinet cards and vintage post cards.
The last two days have been spent scanning into the computer
and I thought I would share some of
them with you tonight.
I hope you enjoy them.

A Great Day Book Browsing and Junking With My Son

 Spring Break At Last
Yeah!!!
Jordan and I have been planning a road trip
to our favorite used book store
For months.
Today...at last we had our chance,
He was up at dawn trying to
get me going.
That gave me a huge smile.
So....Off we went.
Book Browser is in Corvallis Oregon, About
42 miles from our house
Jordan kindly took a picture of me
driving.

First we had to stop off at the farm
so that Quinn could have a run.
Here is a picture
Through the walnut trees
My Mom and Her sisters used to sit
in when they
were young.

Pretty flowers are starting to bloom

This is one of the burn piles from the
old barn
It amazed us that tiny grasses and moss
are starting to sprout through
the ashes
A bit of a run around for Jordan and Quinn
in our campsite....Then
Off to the book store

Ha...My pictures are out of order
After the bookstore on the
way home
we found a fantastic junk store
look what we found

These book plates were just lying in a pile of tools
I plan on scanning them later..
they are fantastic.
So...back to the book store.
I get kind of overwhelmed in this little place,
room after room of
delights.
So many rescued books from library's all over America
old books from all over the world
A fantastic Science Fiction section (that is where Jordan Hangs out)
He nicked me for 12 paperbacks today...lol
I love that he reads
So...60 dollars later...A beautiful book on antique purses for me..and a stack of
Harper's.  A beautiful little book on friendship
from 1878
And like I said...Jordan's huge stack of books.
I am glad my hubby is out of town this week...Tonight I am going to just go through
these old Harper's magazines and transport myself
back in time.
Jordan has already jumped into one of his books.....so I think a cup of
tea is in order.
Tomorrow, more work on Junkin Gypsies and Leaping Frog...
but now...a little break.
