Halloween Freebie Little Bat

Freebie Friday I Saw Three Ships Free Image

Last summer my family and I visited our favorite used bookstore in Corvallis Oregon.  It is a funky old place full of stacks of books.  But those sellers are sooo savy.  Anyway...tucked way back in a room...(because it is like a labyrinth) I found this old book on top of a stack.  My heart raced as I looked through it.  What beautiful illustrations... What a beautiful children's book.  The title is A Baby's Opera  The Book of Old Rhymes With New Dresses By Walter Crane.
I hope you enjoy these pages as much as I do...I am in the process of scanning them and cleaning them up (a new trick I have learned).  I thought these would make such beautiful angels for the holidays. 

I Am Out Dancing With The Fairies

Sometimes...When the moon is full...The Fairies come tapping softly on my window. "Come dance with us..they sing".....What to wear?.. I ponder for just an instant. Ahhh...Quickly I slip on my crystal bracelet. Perfect.... Shimmiring and sparkly, simple....Divine.

Freebie Halloween Cut Out Images Wicked Witch and Her Ghosts

A few years ago I had the pleasure of going to one of the most amazing Estate sales I have ever been too.  It was an old house in Corvallis Oregon.  4 Generations had lived in this home..and the last one, A woman who was 97 had passed and had no heirs to leave it all to.   This house had a nursery that took the whole top of the house. Inside...shelves and drawers full of books, art, art supplies...craft supplies.  There was no way I could get in because of the crush of happy hunters.  As I left the upstairs...a lone stack of books sat in a shelf.  On a whim I picked one up with out even looking at it and went ahead and bought it with the rest of my finds.  After I and my sister and sister-in-law got home..we looked through what we had bought.  Out of my book fell these lovely old Halloween decorations.  There is also a bat and an owl.  I will post those tomorrow.  It looks like they came from a magazine and were to be made up into a mobile.  I just love them...they need a little cleaning up, but then they should be just perfect.  I hope you enjoy them.

Freebie Friday Victoran Calling Card

When I was a child, my mother would let me and my sister go through the family scrapbooks and photo albums.  We never got tired of hearing our families stories...seeing their pictures and even their calling cards.  My great grandfathers autograph album was always a source of fascination.  The writing so beautiful... I collect antique and vintage cookbooks....it seems to run in the family because my mother and sister both do also.  Needless to say...we three love to cook too.  Some years ago I came across this amazing antique cook book at an estate sale.  It is almost falling apart and had been cast into the "free" pile.  I know I am not the only one of us out there that just lives for those free boxes...what treasures I have discovered.  Anyway...This is one of my gems...From the book
