Vintage Japanese Paper Backgrounds Blossoms Bamboo Birds

These beautiful papers are
made from real wood.  Sliced micro thin
and applied on to a paper back
then painted.
I do not know what the wood is
but it has a lovely sheen
I found them in my late Aunt's hope chest
along with their envelopes.
They print out really nice
or you can use them as digital
backgrounds.

Monday Night Football Cookies From Leaping Frog Designs

Well...Here it is football season again
Our t.v. is on all weekend.
College games...pro games.
Monday Night Football
Thursday Night Football
Football Stats
Football hats
Don't get me wrong
I love football
We live right here in Eugene Oregon
Home of the University of Oregon
Ducks

I even got my husband the
ESPN package this year so
we could catch all the Pac 12 games.
And...The NFL package
Lots of football in our house
this fall.

This last Monday I made
a batch of one of our
favorite cookies.
I had them done in time for
the game...
I thought I would share the recipe
with you since they are so
popular in our house.

Monday Night Football Cookies
(These are a chewy toll house type cookie)
2 sticks butter
2 1/4 c flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 c sugar
1 1/4 c brown sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk (yep..just the yolk)
2 tbs milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 c oats (do not use instant)
1 c raisins(or more if you love them)
1 bag Kraft Caramel Bits
If you can not find the Kraft Caramel Bits
just cut up the wrapped
 caramel squares into small pieces

Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
Melt the butter, add sugars and mix til creamy
Add egg, yolk, milk and vanilla extract mix till
combined. Slowly incorporate the flour, salt, baking
soda and mix till combined.  Stir in oats,
raisins and Caramel bits.
I do not chill this dough although you can
Use a number 20 scoop (the big one)
I put about 5 on a pan
Smoosh them just a little
Bake 375 till golden brown
The caramel bits will want to stick
to your pan. I use parchment paper.
Then I can slide them off to cool a bit
before I pull them off.
These are wonderful with chocolate chips in
them also..I just can not eat much
chocolate so I usually make them without.
My hubby loves them.
Here is a picture..I did not set them
up to be very pretty..The guys
started attacking as soon as they came
out of the oven.

They end up being quite large
about 4 inches.
Yummy!!!
Happy Football Season!!!
